Jacksonville eats Part II.

Ok so this is not a Diner, Dive-in or Dive, but I had to stop here while we were visiting Jacksonville.  I first visited Sliders when I was on Amelia Island with my family maybe 23yrs ago!  I loved it then and it seems to only have gotten better.

In the back is where the fun happens!

Deep fried pickles!  They were wonderful.  Sometimes these are not executed well and the coating crumbles off, but not here!

And the ever important sliders!!

All mine!

The band outside on the beach deck.

The band inside!  Told you this place was fun!

Here is the second restaurant of the day, 13 Gypsies.  It is a Diner, Drive-in and Dive.  I loved it, the location was in a quiet little neighborhood and our server was a piece of work, in a good way.

My Roman Gnocchi, it was recommended and now I recommend it! Usually Gnocchi is small boiled pieces this was a cake and fried. Very good!

The Salvador, a pressed sandwich with chorizo, salami, ham and provolone.

Scallops Remini with saffron aioli!  YUM!

And we are on to the next place!  We are full but having fun!

The Sun Dog aka The Dog! a block off the beach in a cute but busy area downtown.

Plus they had a band, they did some good covers, some blues.

Tried the BLT (I know boring!) it was good.  The fries were VERY dried out.

Rick's basic burger was basic.

The place was fun with the band and night life but the food wasn't much.

More to come from the Jacksonville food front.  Yes we ate a lot (but no more than usual!)
