Jacksonville eats! Part I

I decided to divide our eats up, trying to eat in moderation!

Two of our Diners, Drive-ins and Dives are located actually on St Simon's Island, Georgia. We made the drive an hour north of our hotel and had to cross this beautiful bridge. (They are not that special in Jacksonville area, they are everywhere, but I thought they were beautiful).

First up, Southern Soul BBQ. This restaurant actually was featured on a BBQ wars program after they were featured on 3D. Two weeks after the 3D episode their restaurant burnt to the ground. When we made our visit, they were rebuilding and had this food truck and smokers on their location in front of construction serving their wonderful BBQ.

I ordered the pull pork with mac-n-cheese and the hoppin' John (black-eyed peas and rice).

Rick had the Barbecuban sandwich. Both were delicious! but I think the pulled pork was our favorite!

It was good and worth the visit but still not a 3D'r.</p>

Sort of a meatball made of mostly sausage with a spicy garlic mayo.</p>
