I like my coffee thick and creamy, almost bitter. So I order an Americano which is 3 shots of espresso and hot water over top. Well neither Caribou or Starbucks actually do this, what they do is actually called a Long Black, which is in reverse, hot water with 3 shots of espresso on top. This is important because I want less water in my espresso. I like it a little thicker then most in America at least.

At Starbuck's I order a grande Americano with less water. They write on my order cup ‘++ rm' which means to them ‘leave plenty of room for cream'. Problem is they have added the water first then they short me on the 3 shots to leave extra room for cream!
